Governance Arrangements

Over the past few years the number of Governors at Temple Herdewyke has declined leaving it with a lack of experience, small numbers, and as a consequence a limit to the range of skills needed to make up an effective Governing Body. The Stowe Valley Trust Board believes it is in the best interests of the school to have robust governance that can both support and hold the leadership to account, and which can promote the continuous improvement that will move the school forward towards ‘Outstanding’.

Given the difficulties of recruiting and training Governors during this current challenging Covid situation, we have decided to dissolve the existing LGB and put in place an Interim Trust Board Sub Committee until the end of this academic year. One of our Trustees, Dave Walker will Chair this, supported by Karen Boucher who was the link Trustee for Temple Herdewyke and knows the school well. They will be joined by 2 or 3 experienced governors from other LGBs within the MAT. We will be putting in place a Parent Forum to make sure the voice of parents is still included. We would like to thank those parents and members of the community who have offered their skills and given up their time to support the Governing Body of the school, it has been much appreciated.
